Not to be outdone, Louisa cut 0.61 herself in the 25 free, and then almost 3 seconds in the 25 breast, finishing with an amazing personal best by 20 seconds in the 50 free. Wow! At that meet, she set yet another personal record by dropping a third of a second in the 25 breaststroke. At a home meet earlier in the season, she delivered the most soulful rendition of the national anthem that you will ever hear from a 10-year-old. Thank you for a wonderful season in many ways, Lucy!

Emme Blume, 8, was indisputably one of the stars of the Divisionals meet for the Dolphins -- leading the 10&unders in an exciting second day comeback to win the Metcalf Cup. She had a great meet overall, but the highlight was an amazing 100 IM early in the meet, in which she dropped almost 5 seconds from her personal best time on the way to winning the event out the the #3 seed. Her swim not only helped to close the point gap, but rallied the whole team. It was a special moment to be long remembered. Later in the meet, she also cut almost 2 seconds from her personal record in the 25 butterfly and took 2nd place. She also placed 3rd in the 25 free and won the high point award for her age group. We are excited for more excellence in the pool from Emme for many years to come. Fantastic job, Emme!
Mary Wright, 12, is new to the Dolphins this year and we are sure glad to have her on the team! She's working hard on her technique, and is excited about having her first-ever competition next week. No doubt she's going to do an amazing job. We're so glad you're a Dolphin, Emily!

Mia Dather is is 9 and one of the most consistently improving Dolphins. She has now swum 15 individual events this summer and recorded personal best times in 12 of them! She's grown, stronger, tougher, and (of course) faster with each week. She's done so by quietly coming to practice every day and working her hardest to perfect her strokes. She's also a great teammate and a friend to everyone in her age group. Having earned our team's Ironman Award last week, this week her best times were in 25 free (cut .58), 25 breast (cut 2.21), and 25 butterfly (1.24). Way to go, Mia!

Katie Bullinger is a leader by example on the Dolphin team, even though she is only 9 years old. She comes to practice every day prepared to work hard and to improve as a swimmer with incredible focus and determination. She's also a great teammate, always supporting and cheering for others. She had an amazing meet this week, starting with her first-ever 100 IM, which she did perfectly. She followed this with personal bests in the 25 breast (cutting 2.61 seconds) and 25 back (cutting 6.50 seconds). With these swims she earned our team's Ironman Award for the first time. We're so proud of you, Katie!

Anderson Dumit is 7 years old and one of the hardest workers in the 8&under age group. She comes to practice every day -- yes, even when it's cold as it has been all this week! -- and does her best with a smile and cheerful attitude. She was amazing in Thursday's meet, chalking up three personal records. First, she cut 1.66 seconds from her 25 free time, then 0.15 from her breaststroke best. And she wrapped up the day with a 25 butterfly time that was 42 seconds faster than her previous best. You read that right! She also swam breast on the first place medley relay. Congratulations, Anderson!

Ana Ballinger is always up for a challenge. Though only 10 years old, she works out with the 11-12 age group at Devenger practice. And she is a year-round swimmer as well! She brings a cheerful, quiet enthusiasm to practice every day. Her work paid off this week with three new personal bests -- shaving almost a second in her 25 free, almost 2 seconds in her 50 free, and more than 2 seconds in her 25 backstroke. She does her best to improve every single week. Keep it up, Ana!

Ella Brown is 9 years old this summer, and has moved up to the 9-10 practice. She loves the challenge! Although it's difficult sometimes -- especially when the water is cold! -- she works incredibly hard to perfect all of her strokes and try to do whatever Coach asks of her. She is always cheerful, responding with a bright "Okay!" to every request. Her work paid off with a wonderful performance at the first meet on Friday, earning personal best times in all three of her events. She cut three seconds off of her 25 free time, 6.7 seconds off of her 50 free time, and 1.3 seconds from her 25 back. Great job Ella!
