Traffic Pattern for Drop Off
Keeping our children safe is a priority for the Swim Team
The main pool gate will be locked and the gate by the deep end will be the Dolphin entrance for May practices and all morning practices.
Parking spots are only to be used if you are staying and no parking in the circle in the morning will be allowed.
Practice Policies
- Be on time
- Practice time is critical to success in swimming. Please make every effort to attend every scheduled practice.
- Bring a positive attitude- everyone is learning
- Morning practices will generally focus on fitness and endurance training, while the weekly afternoon practice will focus on technique.
- Individual goal-setting meetings with the coaches will be scheduled with each swimmer early in the season.
- Swimmers need to be picked up after their age group practice unless they are able to be directly supervised by someone other than a swimmer in the pool. This is in effect for the safety of all swimmers.
Healthy Swimmers
Ear Preventative Care Instructions:
Put 6-7 drops of 50/50 rubbing alcohol to white vinegar solution in each ear at night. Then drain the ear. The alcohol dries any water and the vinegar kills any bacteria.
Ears are very sensitive to changes in swim locations (lakes, different pools, etc). We want our swimmers to stay healthy!
Hydration
It is very important that swimmers stay hydrated. It may seem like they don't sweat because they are in the water but in reality they are! Always bring a water bottle to practice and drink plenty of water through out the day.
Suncreen
S.A.I.L. swimming involves the sun. Please remember to sunscreen your swimmers for morning and afternoon practice. Also sunscreen them before the meets but do not apply sunscreen to the area where you will write their events.
